For a surprise anniversary overnight, Leigh took me to the Canyon de Chelly National Monument.
Canyon de Chelly is a four or five hour drive from Sedona. It is spectacular! A mini Grand Canyon. Spider Rock is the best known formation, but there are great views from several lookouts on two rim drives, north and south.
Entry into the canyon is only permitted via permit or with an officially registered local guide - except to the White House Ruin. We hiked down into the canyon to the ruin and back for a great up-close and personal experience.
